Classy Cooks had their year-end dinner on April 25 th. The ladies and their spouse or guest enjoyed a Moroccan dinner hosted by Kathy A and Karen Z. The menu included: appetizers (roasted eggplant, lamb kefta skewers, and marinated olives); sides (carrot salad, tomato salad, and herbed couscous); entrees (beef tagine and chicken pastilla), with Moroccan cake and almond gazelle horn cookies for dessert. Lora S and Audrey S, our resident sommeliers, selected the wine for the evening. A Kir Royale cocktail was offered to those who prefer a sweet drink. At the dinner table, each guest was given a question to ask their seatmates.
This prompted lively conversation and insights into each other’s lives – both new acquaintances and friends that we have known for years. For instance, one of the Classy Cooks studied art when she was in school. One of her pieces won a competition and was exhibited in Toledo, Spain. It was a wonderful evening with great food and friends.
Plus, the weather was glorious! Something we all appreciate but dare not count on this time of year.
