On June 25th. Seven members and one guest met up to see Kinky Boots at PVCC Performing Arts Theater. The play is a Tony Award-winning musical that was mostly inspired by true events. The story is about Charlie Price who inherited a troubled shoe factory from his father. In order to save the business, Charlie forms a partnership with a cabaret singer and drag queen named Lola. Together they develop a line of high-heeled boots for men like Lola. In the end, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different from each other.
The music was great and we spent a very enjoyable afternoon being entertained in the air-conditioned theater!
