This month we were incredibly fortunate to experience a cool and cloudy day, which made our visit to the Japanese Friendship Garden in Downtown Phoenix an absolute joy. The tranquility of the garden was truly inspiring, and the vibrant irises were in breathtaking full bloom, adding splashes of color to every corner. However, the real stars of the show were the charming baby ducklings, who managed to steal everyone’s attention away from even the magnificent bright orange koi fish in the pond.
After our morning of sketching and soaking in the serene beauty, we had a fantastic lunch at Vig on Fillmore. The luncheon special burgers were a resounding success–generously sized and absolutely delicious, especially paired with the irresistible sweet potato fries. I wholeheartedly recommend making time to visit both the Japanese Friendship Garden and the Vig on Fillmore, before the Arizona summer truly takes hold.
