Let’s admit it right here! Restaurant Review is a tasty way to get together with friends, make new friends, and enjoy a variety of menus and flavors.
Vic and Ola’s on Pima at Thompson Peak Pkwy serves a southern Italian menu inspired by Chef Sheila’s grandmother’s cooking. Seventeen ladies made the 25-minute drive to the Market Street area at DC Ranch to dine and chat.
Because it was Restaurant Week, 2 different menus were available; one being choices of 4 full courses to indulge all your senses, and the other was their regular lunch menu, also with lots of choices.
The overwhelming majority of us loved the food, along with the ambiance of soft music standards that didn’t interfere with conversation, as well as the elegant table settings with golden flatware. The light filtered through the beautiful stained glass added a magic touch of warmth to the mood!
Favorites were the Whipped Ricotta appetizer (you’ve got to have this!), Bean Soup- “tasted homemade”, Beet Salad – “plentiful”, Ravioli Di Zucca – “great flavor and texture” enjoyed by many. Tender cod on the 4-course meal, Fettuccine Carbonara, Spicy Sal’s Pinsa (small pizza), Fried Eggplant Panini, and of course the Limoncello, were all well received.
Overall, ratings were almost all 5 stars for taste, generous portions, atmosphere, and delicious food.
