After a 20-month hiatus, the Noble Grapes were thrilled to reunite for “A Taste of Tuscany” at the festively decorated home of Debbie K. We enjoyed exploring the Tuscany region of Italy which has a history of wine dating back to the 8th century BC. While the region is best known for its Sangioveses-based dry red wines like Chianti and Brunello, there has been a rise in the Super Tuscans which add cabernet and merlot grapes to the mix.
With 20+ bottles of wine to sample, there were some leftovers at the end of the night. Our hostess with the mostess came up with a clever idea to send us home with the partially full bottles and a cute booklet that included leftover wine recipes. One great tip from the booklet is to make wine ice cubes from your leftover bottles. When you are ready to use them, you can add them to a stew or sauce, or drop them in a glass of sangria or other cocktails. Cheers! – submitted by Pam G
