The Australian wine industry is one of the world’s largest exporters of wine, coming from more than 60 regions. The most widely cultivated grape variety in Australia is Shiraz. The Marlborough region at the top of New Zealand’s South Island is synonymous with one grape variety, Sauvignon Blanc. These are typically light to medium in body, tending toward a grassy character and grapefruit taste.
