On October 23, the MVWC Garden Group attended a Kokedama Workshop/Class at Wright in the Garden. Kokedama is the Japanese art of growing plants in a ball of soil with moss on which an ornamental plant grows.
The original idea came from Japan years ago, where they use bonsai and Kusamono planting styles. This method is very popular today, especially in Arizona’s Japanese gardens. We all thoroughly enjoyed this class and came away with a huge amount of information, along with our very own Kokedama plant.
