In February, the Museum & Special Events group had a docent-guided tour of the Arizona Heritage Center. We learned about the settlement years of Arizona, through the wars and post-war times, and how Arizona was affected. The construction of the Roosevelt Dam & information about Camp Papago, the 2nd largest prisoner of war camp in the U.S. were among the many happenings discussed. In 1864 the AZ legislature created the AZ Historical Society which has been chronicling the state’s history as it happens.
