The Museum and Special Events Group toured the Lavender Farm and Historic Mansion at Chateau de Vie in Chandler, AZ on Friday, January 10th. We had a large number of attendees (25 attendees) for this event. We actually split the group up for lunch at two different restaurants because no one had accommodations for such a large group. The Chateau de Vie is a luxury estate of timeless elegance and charm.
The Chateau was dreamed and constructed in 1984 by Phil and Billy Lee Erickson. The family made their money and lived through their framing contracting business, which is still in business today. The estate features elegant stained glass, ornate wood carvings, and stunning murals. The mansion is approximately 15,000 square feet on 10 1/2 acres. The never-ending and ongoing maintenance brought the owners to part with the mansion in 2002. By 2010, the property had fallen into disrepair. Shelly and Nick Goodman rescued the property and brought it out of foreclosure in 2010. The Goodmans have made numerous restoration efforts to bring the mansion to its original beautiful and exquisite showplace. This was an awesome experience, and everyone was pleased with our tour and history.
