You have seen the wedding-cake shaped building from the highway and wondered, ‘what is that place?’. Six months ago Rosalie was able to snag us tickets and this weekend the Museum Group split-up for two tours of Tovrea Castle at Carraro Heights. It was another interesting day learning more about Arizona’s history. The building has a fascinating and complicated history that reflects the history of Phoenix itself. The Tovrea Carraro Society, together with the City of Phoenix, has lovingly restored this building to its 1930 state, nurtured its beautiful gardens, and maintains its grounds. After the tour, we carried on the fun with lunch at the Phoenix City Grille.
