December’s Holiday Classic High Tea at the Pink Door Tea House in Glendale was delightful with a lovely lunch, beautiful hats and marvelous entertainment by our own Serenity S taking us down memory lane with songs from the past. All attending took home a lovely tea cup that they had sipped tea from. Nancy P serendipitously selected the spot with the beautiful Australian tea cup valued at over $70. Margy S’s granddaughter won the 50/50 drawing. Three beautiful ladies were selected by the Pink Door staff and given prizes for their fabulous hats, Beverly M, Wendy C and Serenity S. The festive day ended with Gwen G handing out beautiful poinsettia door prizes to the winners to take home for the holidays.
The upcoming MVWC fundraising event is the Casino Night on Thursday, February 10, at the Elk’s Club followed by the March 10 luncheon at Aunt Chilada’s with Sean Morton appraising one item for each of us. On April 14 we have our Annual Meeting and luncheon at the Arizona Culinary Institute in North Scottsdale, hosted by Chef Robert Wilson.
