The Hard Cover Girls Book Club met on Zoom during the 2021-2022 season. As a new member, this group offered me opportunities to explore reads that I would never have selected on my own. My horizons were broadened by the selections of the group and I learned a lot!
This season began with How the Penguins Saved Veronica by Hazel Prior. Next, we read Fly Away by Kristin Hannah. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware kept us guessing until the end. Our overall favorite was The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. (My personal copy of this one has become dog-eared as it has been passed to all the readers in my family, a highly suggested read!) Then we tackled Room 39 and the Lisbon Connection by Anthony Wells and Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. Our season culminated with Violeta by Isabel Allende, another favorite.
Our discussions were enlightening, each member having interesting perspectives to share. Our leader, Jackie I, collected favorite titles from each of us for summer reads. We look forward to resuming our “meets” in the fall.
We meet on the last Monday of the month from 11:00-12:00 online and are looking for some new members. New opinions only make things more interesting, right? If you are interested, see the membership form for information about how to join us!
