GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of generosity in us all. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
We would like to ask all of our members to join in the “Giving Tuesday” spirit and make a donation to the MVWC Service Project.
This year we had 13 grant requests and unfortunately, we did not have the funds available to fund them all. We were happy to be able to award $7,000 in grants to 4 local organizations this year. $2,500 to AZ Reach to purchase clothes, shoes, hygiene items and snacks for Cesar’s Closet at Cesar Chavez High School. $1,000 to Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped (ARCH) to purchase medical assessment equipment and sports equipment for Special Olympics athletes. $1,000 to Control Alt Delete to purchase fuel cards for domestic violence victims. $2,500 to HART Pantry to purchase shelf-stable food for homeless and at-risk teen students in 4 West Valley school Districts including Glendale Union High Schools (Thunderbird High).
Thank you, in advance, for your generosity!
