In October, The MVWC kicked off the fall season with a fabulous luncheon at the Arizona Culinary Institute’s Du Jour Restaurant in Scottsdale near 114th and Shea Boulevard. Du Jour is a “classroom” for students attending the Arizona Culinary Institute. The school provides students with the opportunity to learn all aspects of delivering the fine dining experience, including hosting, serving, cooking and baking. The MVWC was treated to a three course meal with a demonstration by the head chef, James Baker, on how to make Bananas Foster. Not only was the food delicious (to be expected in a culinary school), but by all accounts, the students earned an A+ on the other aspects of the fine dining experience.
